Intro[]
Electric Jungle is the programming contest designed and implemented by Nikolay Igotti and Andrei Pangin, from Sun Microsystems.
It models behavior of species in virtual world, where they compete for limited resource, trying to achieve maximal expansion. Player uses Java to implement behavior of his or her creatures.
Goals[]
This contest has 2 primary goals:
- Entertainment for software developers
- Providing training grounds for new approaches to writing software in paradigm similar to the Actor model.
